Hockey's Got Talent! [England Hockey Article]

Over the next four months ENGLAND HOCKEY will be searching to find England’s most gifted free style hockey stars.  We want to see what amazing skills you can display with a hockey stick and ball - your coolest tricks, best juggles, fastest spins and more.   Basically we’re inviting you all to show us what you can do!
We have set up a Hockey’s Got Talent You Tube Channel
http://www.youtube.com/HockeysGotTalent where we will display the best of the best. Take a look on the channel and see some other performers showing what they can do, including England stars Barry Middleton, Helen Richardson and Gemma Darrington.

Can you do what they can do?

Can you do it even better?

Start practicing your moves now, and click here to find out how, by submitting a 60 second video clip to the channel between now and the end of May 2010, you could be in with a chance of showing off in front of a packed house at the 2010 Womens Champions Trophy in Nottingham in July!

Winners
We are looking for 2 overall winners in 2 categories:
1. U18
2. Aged 18 or over (as at the 31st May 2010).
The individual winners in each of these categories will receive a signed England replica shirt and a brand new Adidas hockey stick!

Performance Artists
We will also select a group of people, who are judged to be some of the best performers (across both age groups), and invite them to perform at the 2010 Womens Champions Trophy event in Nottingham in July.

So what are you waiting for?  Start practicing your moves, tricks, juggles and spins now!  We want to see that hockey really has got talent!

Vauxhall Hockey meets Luton Carnival 2010 - UPDATED PHOTOSHarris Mir and Zahid Khan represented Vauxhall Hockey Club at the Luton Carnival on Bank Holiday Monday. A Goal was setup with a "Beat the Goalie" competition. Tanzeel Akhtar and Amjid Ali were also there to volunteer to help out on what proved to be a popular stand. This raised the profile for the Club and maybe even enticed a few players young and old to VHC. Well Done for their efforts on the day!

02 Feb 2006 : Sports Stalwart Nasser mourned by team mates
Sports Stalwart Nasser mourned by team matesNasser Ahmed Feb 2006

On Sunday 29th January 2006 Nasser Ahmed of Vauxhall Hockey Club sadly passed away. Nasser was 47 and had played his last game on Saturday before suffering a heart attack on Sunday morning. Over 30 years Nasser was a stalwart of Vauxhall Hockey Club and previously Bedfordshire Eagles HC in Luton. He made an immense contribution to local hockey as a player, coach and umpire across Bedfordshire and the East Region. His humour, wise words and gentle manner will be sorely missed by all who played and spent time with him and the community of friends he leaves behind will have many warm and fond memories. Our thoughts and sincere sympathies are with his family during this testing time - Nasser will always be remembered by his family of "brothers" at Vauxhall.
